My Halloween hot take it that I still want to feel like me. I enjoy the variety and the creativity, but shopping for a polyester costume to wear the one time, just doesn't feel sustainable — or comfortable if we're being honest. I like using makeup to get into the spooky spirit, and there are a lot of Luna & Lark options to help you find yours. Here is our Pinterest board of Halloween How-To's, and the makeup you can use to re-create the look. Full disclosure, finding these looks without AI images was feeling a little too impossible this week, but I promise, I personally tried the fawn look last year, and it may have taken three tries before I didn't feel like it was a Pinterest-fail, but I did pull it off. I have faith you can do it too! The Enchanted Fawn Soft, wide-eyed, and suspiciously good at looking innocent while being the main character in every photo. Perfect for Halloween because it turns basic contouring into woodland sorcery. When I tried this look, I found that a cotton swab with white nail polish did better than white eyeliner to create the dotted fawn effect. Start with an SPF primer, so your makeup sticks well, and then do an all over base foundation — choose something that won't cake because this look requires A LOT of contour. Use a Shape Stick like this one from Axiology to draw the outlines you'll need — think a defined nose, high cheekbones, and blending to your neck and hairline. You can also use this on your eyes, or you could try something more glamorous from their Of the Earth Balmie Trio. Next apply highlighter - Heaven on Main Street's Diamond shade is a bright white opalescent shade that you can see the model wearing on her nose, forehead, and around her eyes. Finish with River Organics Zero Waste Mascara to draw on the lips and nose before using it to line your eyes and enhance your eyelashes. Don't forget to shape your brows! The enchanted fawn is all about the eyes, right? Consider layering one this scent from Ellis Brooklyn to truly embody the Fawn vibes. The Living Jack-O’-Lantern Orange, glowing, and slightly unhinged—just like the holiday itself. This look nails that “I carved my personality out of caffeine and sugar” energy. This makeup is nice because you get to make this look what you want it to be. Add a cozy, oversized sweatshirt or a fancy linen wrap dress, just make sure it's orange! Start with your normal foundation — or Fung-dation. I used Heaven on Mainstreet's Sun color pod as the base for my cheeks and eyes. Then I topped them with Minori's Cream Highlighter in Champagne. If you buy their No Makeup Glow Kit, the Cozy Lipgloss is the perfect compliment for a semi-nude lip to complete this look. Finish with River Organics Zero Waste Mascara to draw on the jack-o-lantern mouth. Then use it like your daily mascara! Channel your inner cornucopia by creating a unique scent and blending scents from the Love Triangle trio. You get to be beautiful, cozy, and glowy without the "trying too hard" part. The Cozy Koala Fuzzy, grey, and too adorable to be scary—but that’s the trick. Everyone else will be melting latex onto their faces while you’re out here serving comfy chaos. This light makeup look is perfect for someone who wants to show off how dedicated they've been to their skincare routine. Start with SPF like any skincare devotee, and then apply a glowy skin tint, if you need it. The River Organics Peachy Blush Stick is perfect for cheeks, nose and eyes with this innocent look, just layer extra on the nose. Finish with their Rose Quartz Highlighter and a few swipes of mascara. Alternatively, you could use the Cotton Candy Skies Balmie Trio handy for more colors and layering without losing the sugary sweetness this look needs. Speaking of, consider Sugar Moon to own the night. What I love about this look, is you can keep the lips simple. Just choose your favorite Poppy & Pout Lip Balm flavor. Is Wild Honey too on the nose for a bear?

When daylight folds itself away and the world begins to hush, the body asks for stillness. The Luna Ritual aka Moonrise Ritual answers — a nightly sequence of purifying minerals, replenishing botanicals, and celestial calm created to help both skin and spirit let go. This isn’t simply skincare. It’s a return to rhythm — a slow, sensory exhale that creates beautiful skin while you're dreaming. A healthy evening routine is all about removing the day and restoring the skin barrier. Dermatologists often recommend double cleansing — a two-step method that ensures a truly clean canvas without over-stripping your skin. Start with an oil-based cleanser or micellar formula to break down sunscreen, makeup, and excess sebum. Follow with a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser (gel for oily or combination skin, cream for dry or sensitive types) to lift away residual impurities like sweat and pollution. The goal: skin that feels clean, never tight. Next, apply an antioxidant serum — and Vitamin C is the gold standard. It brightens, protects against free radical damage, and boosts overall radiance. Think of it as your skin’s nightly reset, helping neutralize oxidative stress from UV exposure and pollution. Bonus points if your formula includes ferulic acid or Vitamin E, which enhance stability and potency. If you use eye cream, this is the moment for it. Target puffiness, dark circles, or dryness with ingredients like caffeine, peptides, or Vitamin C. It’s optional but worthwhile if the delicate eye area needs extra support. Then, lock in hydration with a barrier-strengthening moisturizer. Look for ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin — dermatologist favorites that help replenish moisture and maintain elasticity overnight. Choose a texture that matches your skin type: richer for dry skin, lighter for oily or acne-prone. 🌙 Step-by-Step Evening Ritual 1. Suds & Shine — Nectar Republic Lavender Bath Soap Slip into serenity with the soothing scent of lavender as creamy lather melts away the day’s tension. This gentle cleanse relaxes muscles, softens skin, and sets the tone for a night of deep rest. 2. Sip & Soothe — Three Ships Off Duty Sea Algae Eye Masks Cool, de-puff, and refresh tired eyes with sea algae and caffeine while you sip your evening tea. These masks deliver instant hydration and brightness — a spa-level reset for delicate under-eyes. 3. Steep & Sleep — Tea with Tae Bedtime Bliss Herbal Sleep Tea Infuse calm from the inside out. Sip this chamomile, peppermint, and rooibos blend as your eye masks work their magic — a warm, grounding ritual that quiets both skin and spirit. 4. Purify & Polish — Fablerune Turmeric, Charcoal & Copaiba Cleanser Begin your double cleanse with this purifying, mineral-rich formula. Turmeric calms, charcoal detoxifies, and copaiba resin soothes redness — leaving skin refreshed and balanced, never stripped. 5. Melt & Moisturize — UpCircle Eco Cleansing Face Milk with Aloe Vera Follow with a second, gentle cleanse to nourish and hydrate. This creamy, aloe-infused milk melts away lingering impurities, restoring moisture and leaving your skin soft, supple, and perfectly prepped. 6. Mist & Manifest — Fablerune Face Mist with Neroli & Frankincense A fragrant sigh of calm. Neroli and frankincense tone, soothe, and center — helping your skin (and senses) transition into rest mode. Mist generously and inhale deeply. 7.Feed & Flourish — Indie Lee Daily Vitamin Infusion Replenish with a potent blend of vitamins A, C, and E, squalane, and botanical oils. This antioxidant-rich serum restores barrier strength, improves texture, and leaves skin with a subtle, healthy sheen. 8. Dream & Dew — The Organic Skin Co. Dream Cream Hydration meets restoration. This dreamy moisturizer locks in actives and boosts overnight repair with plant peptides, hyaluronic acid, and nourishing botanicals — so you wake up radiant. 9. Seal & Surrender — Native Atlas Omnis Universal Oil Seal in moisture and serenity. Massage a few drops of this multi-tasking botanical oil into your face, neck, or pulse points. Its subtle aroma invites relaxation while enhancing your skin’s natural glow. 10. Buff & Bedtime — Poppy & Pout Lip Scrub Finish with a gentle polish of sugar and natural oils to smooth and soften your lips. The perfect final touch before bed — a kiss of self-care to close the night. During sleep, the skin’s natural renewal peaks — collagen builds, circulation deepens, and cell turnover accelerates. Aligning your ritual with this rhythm enhances the body’s own brilliance. It’s beauty through restoration, not effort.

Wake up. Stretch. Debut your main-character glow. The Lark Routine, aka Sunrise Rituals, is your morning routine — a bright blend of clean beauty, fresh florals, and citrusy energy designed to bring you fully online (before the caffeine hits). This lineup is all about alert, not alarmed: scents that spark joy, textures that revive, and ingredients that tell your skin it’s time to show up. So what should your morning routine include? Start with a Gentle Cleanser that removes sweat, oil, and skincare from the night before. Go for a non-stripping, sulfate-free cleanser (gel or cream-based depending on your skin type). Then apply an Antioxidant Serum (Vitamin C = Gold Standard) because it protects against environmental damage and boosts radiance. Vitamin C fights free radicals from pollution and UV exposure — think of it as your skin’s morning coffee. Bonus points if it includes ferulic acid or vitamin E for stability and extra protection. I personally use Eye Cream to targets puffiness, dark circles, and dryness, but it's an optional step. Look for caffeine, peptides, or vitamin C. Dermatologists say: if you’re in your 20s–30s, focus on hydration and protection; not heavy actives yet. Finally, apply Moisturizer that hydrates and locks in everything underneath. Use a lightweight, non-comedogenic formula in the morning. Ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin are dermatologist favorites for daily wear. Sunscreen is non-negotiable as the single most important step in any morning routine. Dermatologists unanimously call SPF 30+ the MVP of morning skincare. Choose a broad-spectrum formula with zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, or stabilized chemical filters. Apply generously to face, neck, and ears — even if you’re mostly indoors (UV sneaks through windows). 🌼 Step-by-Step Morning Ritual 1. Suds & Shine — Fablerune Grapefruit Bar SoapStart fresh with the zesty, mood-boosting scent of grapefruit. It’s your wake-up call in solid form — energizing, cleansing, and perfectly tart. 2. Smooth Operator — UpCircle Coffee Face ScrubA gentle exfoliation moment with repurposed coffee grounds that brighten, smooth, and help you feel like you actually slept last night. Bonus: it smells like ambition and espresso. 3. Bright Start — Indie Lee Brightening CleanserThis is my favorite product, and I recommend it to basically everyone who walks in m store! A cult-favorite gel cleanser that leaves your skin dewy, not stripped. Think strawberry scent and vitamin C vibes. 4. Mist Me, Please — The Organic Skin Co. Set the Tone Hydrating Rose Mist Toner with AloeA floral reset button. One spritz and you’re basically standing in a rose garden with a to-do list you actually feel like doing. 5. Liquid Light — Three Ships Jelly Drops Serum (Kakadu Plum + Mushroom Hyaluronic Acid)This is your hydration hero — lightweight, juicy, and full of natural vitamin C. The dewy drop that makes your skin look awake even when you’re not. 6. Eye Opener — Three Ships First Light Eye Cream (Vitamin C + Caffeine)Depuff, brighten, and look unreasonably refreshed. Caffeine for your under-eyes, because coffee can only do so much. 7. Balance & Glow — The Organic Skin Co. Daily Rituals pH Balance Facial MoisturizerLight but nourishing, perfectly grounding — the kind of moisturizer that makes SPF go on like a dream. Plus, with rosehip, aloe, and calendula, this gentle formula supports barrier health, reduces redness, and leaves skin soft, supple, and refreshed. 8. Filter in a Bottle — Indie Lee SPF PrimerYour skin but smoother, glowier, and sun-safe. SPF 50 never looked this effortless. 9. Manifest Energy & Joy — Olivine Atelier Mermaid MoonLike sea glass kissed by light, Fluorite clears emotional fog, protects your energy, and brings joy back to the surface. A fragrance for mystery, seduction, and moonlit freedom. Mermaid Moon is lush and otherworldly—like moonlight on water and secrets whispered just beneath the surface. She invites you to dive deeper, soften, and surrender to what’s already yours. 10. Seize the Day — Poppy & Pout Pomegranate Peach Lip BalmThe final flourish of your morning ritual. Smooth on this bright, fruity balm for lips that feel soft, hydrated, and just the right amount of glossy. It’s the pop of pomegranate that seals the deal — juicy, fresh, and quietly confident. One swipe and you’re ready to face the world (or at least your inbox). 💬 Dermatologist Takeaway If you only do three things in the morning:👉 Cleanse → Vitamin C → Sunscreen.Everything else? That’s your glow-boosting bonus.

Read moreCelebrating the Fall Equinox: History, Traditions, and Ideas
As summer fades and the days grow shorter, the Fall Equinox marks a moment of balance, reflection, and preparation for the colder months ahead. Occurring around September 22nd or 23rd each year, this astronomical event is more than just a seasonal milestone—it has a rich history and meaningful traditions across cultures. A Brief History of the Fall Equinox The word "equinox" comes from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), referring to the day when daylight and darkness are nearly equal. For ancient civilizations, this balance of light and dark held spiritual and agricultural significance. Ancient Egypt: Egyptians used the equinox to align temples and mark important religious ceremonies. The Nile’s flooding, which was crucial for agriculture, was closely tied to solar events like the equinox. Mesoamerica: The Maya and Aztecs built pyramids that aligned with the sun during equinoxes, creating breathtaking displays of light and shadow that symbolized cosmic order. Europe: Celtic cultures celebrated the equinox with harvest festivals, honoring deities associated with fertility, agriculture, and the changing seasons. East Asia: In Japan and China, the equinox marks a time to honor ancestors and reflect on the impermanence of life, with festivals like Higan emphasizing balance and gratitude. Across cultures, the Fall Equinox has symbolized transition, gratitude for the harvest, and the delicate balance between light and dark—a reminder that change is a natural and necessary part of life. How to Celebrate the Fall Equinox Celebrating the equinox can be as simple or elaborate as you like. Here are some ideas to honor the season: 1. Connect with Nature Take a walk outdoors to witness the changing leaves and the shifting light. Notice the crispness in the air, collect fallen leaves, or observe migrating birds. Spending time in nature helps you tune into the rhythm of the season. 2. Create an Equinox Altar Decorate a small table with seasonal items like pumpkins, gourds, apples, and autumn leaves. Add candles or crystals if you enjoy symbolic elements. This can serve as a space for reflection or meditation on balance in your life. 3. Host a Harvest Feast Share a meal with family or friends featuring seasonal produce like squash, apples, nuts, and root vegetables. Traditionally, harvest festivals celebrated abundance, and sharing food is a timeless way to honor that spirit. 4. Reflect and Set Intentions Use the equinox as a time to reflect on your goals and life balance. Journaling about what you want to release and what you want to cultivate can align you with the energy of transition and growth. 5. Light a Candle Ceremony Light a candle for each aspect of your life you want to balance—work and rest, giving and receiving, activity and reflection. Let the equinox inspire mindfulness and harmony in your daily routines. Embracing the Balance The Fall Equinox is more than just an astronomical event—it’s an opportunity to pause, appreciate the present, and prepare for the months ahead. Whether through reflection, feasting, or connecting with nature, celebrating this turning point can bring a sense of harmony and gratitude to your life.
