Microcosm Publishing began as a passion project in a basement in 1996 and grew into a fiercely independent publishing house and distributor dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices. Founded by Joe Biel, Microcosm has always believed that books can change lives—and that DIY ethics, punk spirit, and radical accessibility belong in the literary world.

From zines to full-length books, their catalog empowers readers to take control of their mental health, relationships, creativity, and communities. With every title, they champion the idea that knowledge and self-awareness should be tools for liberation, not luxury.
