The Magic of Firsts: A Note from Our First Pop-Up

There’s a kind of quiet magic in doing something for the very first time - equal parts thrilling and terrifying. On Saturday morning, I set up shop for Luna & Lark’s first ever pop-up, and, like most things that are a little terrifying going in, now that it’s over, I’m not sure what I was so afraid of.

Did I find a get-rich-quick secret? Absolutely not. Did I make some sales and talk to people about their beauty habits? Absolutely!

I was interested to hear how many people admit they don’t really know what they are doing with skin care, only to find they know way more than they are giving themselves credit for. I talked to women who don’t wear makeup often, but like the idea of a more natural makeup or the ease of Axiology balmies. I gave away
a lot of Minori mineral SPF Primer samples to people asking what one thing they should consider. I gave incorrect information about which of my brands are also on Amazon (sorry! I’ll do better next time!).

To everyone who stopped by—whether you browsed, bought, asked questions, or just shared a smile—your presence meant the world.

The night before, I was up at 2am, writing price tags and rethinking merchandising decisions. My panic wavered between wondering if I would have enough samples to whether or not I was packing way too much. I skipped around a lot of playlists trying to match my vibes.

And then, somehow, it all came together.

You showed up. You were curious, kind, open. You let me stumble through my first tap to pay on the card reader. You asked questions about ingredients and rituals. You listened to the story behind the brands I love. You gave feedback, took samples, and brought this little dream to life in real time.

To my very first in-person customers: thank you for your patience, your warmth, your trust. You didn’t just buy something—you believed in this.

Luna & Lark is built on the idea that beauty is magic, and routine can become ritual. This pop-up made that feel tangible. We’re just getting started, and I can’t wait to keep growing with you—one market, one story, one ritual at a time.
